2 Characters and a Setting

For this project we have to create an animation based on 2 character and a setting that they are placed in.
My choice is the Goby Shrimp

Goby Shrimp is a pair of Pistol Shrimp and Goby fish.
As the goby uses the shrimp's burrow for protection from predators, it also acts as "eyes" for the pistol shrimp. During the day, the goby hovers above the burrow, feeding and interacting with other gobies. Meanwhile, the shrimp uses its antennae to stay in constant contact with the goby's tail while searching for food (detritus, tiny crustaceans and worms) and maintaining the burrow opening. If a predatory fish approaches, the goby flicks its tail several times, alerting the shrimp to retreat into the burrow. If the predator comes within striking distance, the goby will dart headfirst into the burrow. During the night, the two simply rest together in the burrow.

Formative Hand In

4th Year Final Animation Characters After discussing with my tutors, I have decided to go with an overall limited colour palette of old paper unless the characters are under certain lighting. This is achieved by having a base layer, then a layer of 3 colour range is added. Which is then set as overlay in post production. Production After the rigging of the characters I am ready to being production. I ahve already prepared most of the parts needed. The boat and paddle When setting up a scene, I extract the different components of my drawing and add depth to it in Maya Once of the main concern was the water aspect of the film. This is solved by applying a ramp shader with 2 colour on a ocean layer after converting it into polygons.  As you can soo the ocean are too off with the style I am looking for. Story

The decided story line.   The animation will be about the adventure of John Potter which he searches for treasures, and there are two options following that.  1) He goes on an Odyssey like action meeting different mystical creatures and finds the treasures (stuffs displayed in the box).  2) He goes on an adventure but wasn't able to find any treasure, however at the end he realized the diary he wrote on every was the treasure. I decided on going with the 1st option. Here are some character designs I did. As well as a breif plan that I did. Then I moved on to story board. And some background researches
